Celmony Melodyne Direct Note Access
Celmony Melodyne is a program which can seperate polyphonic material into individual notes. Think of it like a MIDI file but instead your can get into a wav file and vary the pitch and timing of individual notes in a chord. So you could take a single guitar riff for example and create varyiations out of this guitar riff to make an entire guitar track for a song. What’s more amazing is that after varying the notes and creating an entirely different riff, it sounds just as if it was played on a guitar. This opens up a whole new world for computer musicians!
Take this guitar track below for example, its a wav file consiting of chords.

Now open this in Melodyne and can see the individual notes in the chord!!!
