One Blog Topic or Many?
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008Just recently I have been wondering whether or not I should stick to just one blog topic ie. Fruity Loops Tutorials. Then I began to think about it in the long run and how boring my blog would end up becoming. A one topic wonder with helpful information only useful to a certain group of people, maybe even a resonably small group.
In order for this blog to grow into a useful community of like minded people it would be silly for me to solely focus on FL Studio. Sure a blog is an expression of your personal interests, but my interests extend much farther than just Fruity Loops. Take this post for example, I am totally off topic and have started up a new category “Blog Help” to inspire other bloggers.
My blogging rules
-
I believe that blog posts should not be forced or written just to impress a search engine.
-
Do not limit posts to a single category. Write out of your comfort zone and see where it takes you.
-
Stick to a regular blogging basis - there is nothing worse than seeing a blog with the latest post written a month ago.
-
Create a design that makes your blog stand out from other blogs.
-
Blogs should not be MFA (made for AdSense), that is solely for the purpose of advertising because the content usually stinks and they are never updated. I don’t even waste my time reading such blogs as the people who make them surely have no creative ability or desire to express themselves.
-
Provide your readers with useful information, not just copied from other sites.
-
Be open to change. Read your comments and keep the future of your blog in mind.
